| DRESS CODE: |
Slacks and shirts or blouses are considered appropriate.
Denim or jeans and T-shirts are not appropriate. |
| EQUIPMENT: |
The intern is required to have his/her own stethoscope. |
| TRANSPORTATION: |
Not supplied. A veterinary truck will be supplied for ambulatory or emergency work, but is otherwise committed. |
| EMERGENCY WORK: |
The intern will begin a normal emergency duty rotation approximately 2 weeks after arrival. This will include shared primary duty and secondary duty split with the other interns. A senior veterinarian will be available on back up call at all times. The intern will have 2 weekends a month off unless attending their hospitalized cases. All staff veterinarians carry 24 hour pagers to help if needed unless out of town. |
| VACATION/SICK DAYS: |
5 vacation days, not to be taken in the last 30
days of employment. 3 sick days per year. |
| STATE LICENSE: |
State license is required prior to beginning the internship. The test is offered monthly. Intern is responsible for all fee. |
| COMPENSATED CONTINUING EDUCATION: |
Allowed 2 CE days per year and a $500 stipend to be used only for continuing education purposes. |
